To be honest I believe that fact that one more child did not starve today and we did not destroy ourselves with nuclear weapons only because it of God's intervention.





Given that range of micro to macro intervention I would say that obviously a pipeline or no pipeline is a matter in which God is more that capable of attending to.





Some people may ask if God has time to attend to a pipeline then why does He not have time to attend to all the starving children.





To that I would say He has made it clear that we are not to allow children to starve to death and given us the capability to prevent it.





If we choose to disobey Him and allow children to starve to death, then we will reap what we sew.





I suppose if we ignore him enough on issues like this then one day, He might just let us have that nuclear war.

You are right of course, President Obama stated that he wants Turkey to join the EU whilst at the G meetings last month, and that will be a disaster for the UK and Europe if we let 80 million poor people in and allow them settle wherever they like within the EU. Not a lot! The pipeline imports OIL from Azerbaijan into Europe. Pipeline in currently closed in Turkey, due to PKK attack. Two ports are closed in near Georgia. So it doesn't seem to have made a lot of difference, and I doubt it would result in any major increase.





Not short term anyway. Europe is prepared as few months ago Russia blocked it's supply to Ukraine. It wouldn't change the price much because that region is so unstable, nobody was counting on that oil coming out anyway.

What do you think is being done? Some is sold to other countries, a good portion is used in the country. The person that says it is sold to the saudi's is wrong and can't prove their arguement. That is a dam good question and I doubt if you are going to get any good answers. They built a pipeline that would last 25 years and its been 30. What did they thing would happen. Maybe these companies need a tax break.
Their objectives are to make money, not to preserve their infrastructure.
They say it's rusty just to stick it to us at the pump and fatten their wallets. When is the Government going to go to bat for us and put a cap on these greedy b*tches is my question. Next month it will be some new excuse...
Replacing pipelines is a very costly and time consuming process. Also, to replace a section of pipe requires the stopping of the flow through that section. These pipes have been used for over 30 years and the corrosion has occurred through out this time. The oil companies record profits are cyclical at best. Less than three years ago oil was being traded at less than 1/3 of what they are now. 15 years ago, oil was a strong profitable business and the government taxed and trarrifed the business until the profit margins for the oil companies were minimul. Repairs weren't done because the cash for oil companies weren't there... today... the oil companies are making more money.. and only NOW will they have the money to reinvest in their infrastructure and exploration.





Just a another tidbit of information... the government taxes the gasoline you purchase at the pump at a percentage rate. The means that the government is getting over twice the amount from the taxes derrived from the sale of fuel than they used to. If the government was so concerned about the cost of fuel, why doesn't it lower the tax rate to help ease the cost at the pump and return the revenue levels collect from the taxes back to what it was prior to the increase in fuel prices?
LOL, I'm developing their invoicing system for the petrol stations, and I can say the don't spend much money in software neigther, at least the could pay well to their programmers, we have managed to save them from a fine of 10% of their annual income due to irregularities in their reporting system.
