Why is oil so hi when the Alaska pipeline was to be for us and only us, can anyone in Washington tell us why.?

We have been drilling and pumping oil here since 1977. We don't have enough to satisfy the needs and wants of the USA. Gas here today (April 11) is $3.55/gal.Why is oil so hi when the Alaska pipeline was to be for us and only us, can anyone in Washington tell us why.?
Not only that, but why is there a surplus of oil in Iraq..just reported yesterday....and I might add that each Alaska residents receive a $1500. royalty from the oil each year..so that's like gas free....and with the oil companys reporting billions and billions in profits for decades and they say they can't build refinery's duhWhy is oil so hi when the Alaska pipeline was to be for us and only us, can anyone in Washington tell us why.?
The Alyeska Pipeline is not for us and only us. The main user of the pipeline is BP, a British corporation. All of these oil companies are still businesses with the main objective of making lots and lots of money. They owe absolutely nothing to the American citizens. Demand is at an all time high, and thats why they can get away with selling oil at $100 a barrel. Because we are willing to pay that much.
The supply in Alaska is hardly enough to meet America's energy needs. The oil comes from a variety of sources, including the U.S., Canada, Venezuela, the Middle East, etc. That's why oil prices here are different than the prices in other countries. Venezuela has enough for its own needs so citizens there pay practically nothing for gas.
We have oil we just can't refine it............
